Like the G55multi-channel amplifier, G57 is based on innovations in amplifier design firstintroduced in Meridian’s flagship DSP8000 Loudspeaker. G57 is equally at homepartnering with 800 or G Series. When combined with G55 and a Meridian SurroundController, the G57 becomes an integral part of a 7.1 analogue theatre system. While providing 200 watts per channel, the G57 can bebridged to provide a staggering 1,000 watts of mono power. This allows a systemto grow from a single G57 in stereo, to a pair in mono for a reference levelamplifier combination. Meridian’s Super Balanced operation internallybalances even single ended signals for the best sound quality. G57 is constructed of a bead blasted, metal chassis withglass accents that surround an additional inner chassis. This double skinnedapproach protects delicate signals inside the G57 to be isolated from outsidenoise. This is just one of the means that Meridian employs to deliver lifelikeperformance while keeping an eye on industrial design. Designed for the ultimate in performance and flexibility, G57 incorporates a unique bridging circuit that reconfigures both channels intoone mono channel. In this mode, two channels are combined to provide 1,000watts of power - this makes for a simple upgrade path that allows you to startwith one G57 in stereo and then add another for higher performance. A 12-volt trigger input allows the G57 to be activated fromyour preamp or surround controller. This makes for simple, care free, andefficient operation. This trigger is optically isolated from the amplifier, thus eliminating any chance of noise. Unlike other amplifiers, G57 maintains a standing voltage onthe power rails and supply components. As a result, you do not have to wait forthe amplifier to warm up before reaching its optimum performance. This meansgreat performances as soon as the system is turned on. For custom installations, G57 uses the same G Series Rackkit making it simple and easy to install. A separate output trigger controlsintake and exhaust fans integrated into the rack kit. This ensures the fansoperate when the G57 is on, keeping it at its optimal temperature. Thisprovides not only the best performance, but also ensures maintenance free usewhen installed into an equipment rack. G57 offers bi-wire capability for higher performance passiveloudspeakers. This provides higher quality sound to the speaker than that of asingle connection. Like all G Series amplifiers, internally the G57 is wiredwith silver stranded cable to avoid signal loss. ]]>
